A Helldivers 2 leak has uncovered possible plans for ship customization with further claims that Arrowhead are “holding onto a lot of content at the moment”. A lot has leaked for HD2, and such plans include a Superweapon that is basically equivalent to the Death Star from Star Wars, as well as leaks of new Illuminate Cultists that could be joining the battlefield before the end of the year. While new Illuminate and superweapons capable of destroying planets are exciting, we might also be getting more customization.
Helldivers 2 leak uncovers potential plans for ship customization
Prominent Helldivers 2 leaker, Iron_S1ghts on X, has uncovered possible plans for ship customization. There is the caveat that this content might be scrapped, but, if not, Iron_S1ghts has uncovered the following so far:
Color Customization:
- Primary Color
- Primary Color (Interior)
- Secondary Color
- Banner Color
Texture Customization:
- Set Texture
- Set Banner
In addition to the above, Iron_S1ghts reports “There’s a LOT of customization in relation to ships, armor, weapons, etc,” but “there is no telling if this will be added”. The leaker also teased “AH is holding onto a lot of content at the moment”.
As well as ships, weapons, and armor, Iron_S1ghts has told followers that “All the clan customization stuff is still there too”. Clans were leaked last year, and leaks included clans referred to as Platoons, in which players would be able to create a Platoon, decide its name, and edit the Platoon by adding and removing members. Later leaks included features such as Platoons being able to make announcements and support individual Clan Chat Rooms.
As for why clans, armor customization and other features have not been added since leaking last year, Iron_S1ghts has speculated that it could be because of performance woes. In replying to another user, Iron_S1ghts said “The [clans] system works great and is honestly very well polished… But I don’t think it would be stable right now [as] It has a heavy backend, and we’re already struggling with matchmaking issues”.
Remember that these are only leaks rather than anything official. Nothing has been confirmed or announced by Arrowhead, and internal plans can always change.
