Helldivers 2 is all about the sense of community, which is reflected in cosmetic items to mark important occasions, and emotes to bring players closer together. But, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t flex your achievements from time to time, especially as it is a difficult game.

U/Corndaddy6969 took to Reddit to ask Arrowhead Game Studios to utilize Capes as a way for players to show off their achievements, such as reaching certain levels or performing particular actions in missions saying,

“Anyone else think they should add rank capes? Like once you get to 75 or something you get a special cape that is only unlockable by hitting that rank. Could be a cool way to visually show off how much much time you’ve spent indiscriminately spreading democracy.”

U/Raidertck took the comments to make a suggestion that challenges could be tied to unlocking Capes saying,

“I would love capes for hitting certain requirements. Like you kill 50,000 bots/bugs or beat 30+ Helldive campaigns against them. You get a special cape showing you have mastered that faction.”

This could make for a great opportunity to add new Capes to the game, as most have only been added due to events or Warbonds. By using Capes to mark achievements rather than Titles, it would add a new layer of customisation and allow Arrowhead Game Studios to get creative with the designs. Having some unlock for completing a challenge rather than levels sounds fun. It would give players more of a reason to play against different enemy types, as well as push them outside of their comfort zone.

While it would be great to see this implemented, with the developers spending longer working on patches, it would be a long time before we could see it come to fruition, if it ever does. But for now, we do have the upcoming Viper Commandos Warbond to look forward to, which will add many new items to the game.
