It has been a tough time to be a Helldivers 2 player recently, with many Major Order failures due to players being turned away from the game following weapon nerfs and the PSN controversy. With Johan Pilestedt recently stepping down as CEO to focus more on the development of the game as Chief Creative Officer, it looks like things could be turning around for the game when the next updates start being released.
Following the failure of the last Major Order, which should have been a guaranteed victory, the Helldivers 2 community has come together to ensure they completed the next one, unlocking a brand new Stratagem in the process.
Super Earth revealed that the latest Major Order was a success and that the new Emancipator Exosuit Mech is now available for all players to unlock. The new Mech will also be available to use for free over the next few days as is standard with new Stratagems in Helldivers 2.
“The Automaton Petafactory on Varylia 5 has been liberated by the Helldivers. Industrious, well-compensated human engineers are now hard at work retrofitting the Petafactory to create the double-autocannon-equipped EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit. Like its predecessor, Emancipator is an undeniable example of quality craftsmanship.
The conditions discovered at the Automaton Petafactory were even worse than expected. It was densely packed with millions of assembly drones, algorithmically compelled to construct socialist weaponry without rest or repair. Of course, these drones, like all Automatons, possessed only a crude imitation of sapience. But their willingness to enslave their own metallic brethren is indisputable evidence of their utter inhumanity.
This reversal is a stunning victory for the Helldivers and for all Super Earth citizens. Even the unrelenting assault from both Automatons and Terminids cannot quell the defiant hearts of Liberty’s faithful. Today the Petafactory; tomorrow the galaxy.”
After having failed multiple Major Orders over the past few weeks, which led to Helldivers 2 players being unable to unlock the highly-anticipated Anti-Tank Mines. But now, players have managed to succeed and unlock the new Emancipator Exosuit. It is similar to the previous Mech, except it uses dual Auto-Cannons rather than Rockets and a Gatling Gun like the previously released Exosuit.
The Emancipator Exosuit Mech can now be unlocked for 20,000 Requisition, but it is also available to try out now in your Stratagems list when on a mission. Overall, it is fun to use and the 150 total Auto-Cannon rounds make it last longer than the previous Mech. It can also be useful for defeating armored enemies such as the Devastator. But, larger enemies can still take it out in a couple of hits.
With the latest Major Order being a success, hopefully, things are finally turning around for Super Earth and players will begin a win streak and we can get back on track with our fight against the Automatons and Terminids, especially as The Illuminate are on the horizon.
