At this point, I’m starting to feel a bit sorry for Arrowhead Game Studios. The developers spent weeks creating a new Stratagem in Helldivers 2 and the community has done its best to not unlock it over the past three months.

U/Darh1407 took to Reddit to theorize that the latest Special Briefing information relating to the current Major Order is going to lead to the developers trying to give players the Anti-Tank Mines again, with the briefing reading,

“The first layer of rubble covering the Advanced Weapons Lab on X-45 has been cleared. Initial reports show the facility remains largely intact. It is possible there is even a cache of still-functional weaponry from the First Ballistic War contained in the lab. Further excavation efforts are ongoing.”

With the mention of a weapons cache, some players are expecting it to be a way for Arrowhead Game Studios to finally give the Anti-Tank Mines that the community seemingly doesn’t want added to their inventory. The Anti-Tank Mines were first revealed in April when players had the option to choose them or the Airburst Rocket Launcher. The community chose the Rocket Launcher and I’ve never seen another player use it since.

Then in May, a Major Order tasked players with eradicating 2 billion Automatons with the Anti-Tank Mines given as a reward, but players decided to fight the Terminids instead. Finally, last month players had the choice to save a children’s hospital or unlock the Mines. It turned out to be the right choice to choose the hospital because Arrowhead Game Studios ended up donating money to charity.

Other players are wondering if this is going to j used as a way to finally give us the Anti-Tank Mines, with U/YeomenEngineer saying “It would be hilarious if people just refused to even buy it and kept losing out on collecting more samples after spending.”

It is possible that we could see weapons from Helldivers 1 make a return, but whatever the weapons cache is holding, it won’t be long until we find out. But until then, it is a great time to optimize your loadout to prepare for these potential new additions.
