Helldivers 2 seemingly came out of nowhere, with it not even being on the radar for many of its players until the game launched and started gaining immediate traction. Since then, the game has defied all expectations and it has gone on to sell over eight million copies in just two months.

Despite being two months old, it is just as popular as ever, with Helldivers 2 averaging over 200,000 concurrent players on Steam. This is the to the regular updates the game receives, including the recently released 1.000.103 update and a brand new community event.

Although the game isn’t perfect, it is clear that the passion is there, and it is easy to forget that there is a team working tirelessly on the game. Players took to Reddit to remind us of this, encouraging gamers to show their gratitude towards the developers saying,

“They’ve been working on this game for years. You probably didn’t even know this IP existed for 2 months. This dev team has been the best dev team in ages. They give us the love and respect we deserve so let’s return the favor. Just have some patience it’s really useful to have in this thing we call life.”

The poster also reminds players that there is more to life than video games and that it is easy to be caught up in the moment and be reactionary. But, if you look back at a game it is usually very surprising to see how far it has come, and Helldivers is no exception.

“There’s plenty of other games to play in the meantime and plenty of grass to touch. Just imagine a year from now what amazing content we will have.”

Despite being grateful for being able to play Helldivers 2 and everything the game has to offer, some also noted that while they appreciate the developers, some immediate issues need addressing, including the AI being able to aim and shoot through walls.

If Arrowhead Game Studios sees this as an issue, it shouldn’t be long until the game is updated to fix these problems. The developers have been releasing new patches every one to two weeks along with stealth updating the game to add new content, such as the addition of the flying Shriekers.

The Helldivers 2 developers are incredibly active when it comes to responding to the community and implementing changes, helping to build a lot of good standing with its players.
