Helldivers 2 is under fire right now due to balancing changes. Despite Arrowhead Game Studios’ commitment to rectify the issues, many doubt that the developers will succeed. However, not everyone doubts the developers and instead thinks of new weapons that could add a fresh element of strategy to the game.

U/yeipo took to the Helldivers 2 sub-Reddit to suggest a new weapon concept saying “Introducing a stim pistol that allows you to heal your teammates from afar or stim yourself (similar to the supply pack) would be a game changer. It would solidify/create a support / medic build and incentivize new styles of team play.”
They then gave some more insight into how the Stim Gun could work and how they would keep it balanced by using “A low magazine size and only being reloaded by stim packs, not ammo packs can possibly balance it out. Either way, I would love to see new playstyles introduced into this game!”
The player used an image of the Treatment Gun from Free Fire, as well as base its effects on the same weapon. But, this is something that the developers could take more inspiration from, as many weapons in shooters are inspired by iconic weapons from older popular titles.
In Free Fire, players can use the Treatment Gun to shoot at their teammates to heal them, or even use it on themselves and it’ll act as a Stim. To give it some offensive utility, the Treatment Gun can also be used as a regular pistol to take down enemies too. With Helldivers 2 weapons having different options such as changing how the weapon fires or turning on a flashlight, it would be a good addition to add the ability to switch it to a regular pistol if needed.
With Arrowhead Game Studios’ plan to release monthly Warbonds, the developers need to create many weapons to keep up as there are usually three included in every Warbond. The latest Freedom’s Flame Warbond finally brought fire-themed items to the game, and it will be interesting to see what direction the next Warbond goes in, especially due to recent nerfs. To help you figure out what to carry with you following the Escalation of Freedom update, I highly recommend checking out our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide and best armor guide.
