After losing several missions to these nasty Terminids, the latest Helldivers 2 patch finally gives the EAT-17 a chance to shine against Chargers. While an earlier patch had also buffed this anti-tank weapon, the new 1.000.102 patch nerfs Chargers in such a way that this stratagem is great against them now.

Helldivers 2 makes the EAT-17 Anti-Tank viable against Chargers

Arrowhead lowered the health of the Chargers’ heads, meaning that headshots take these Terminid foes down quickly. Pair that with the explosive power of an EAT-17 and you can now destroy Chargers in a single hit. The old “leg meta” might have been a workaround but it was a tiring one against a swift enemy. Now, a well-placed shot is all you need. The Recoilless Rifle can also take this monster out in one hit after the 1.000.102 patch.

The patch notes mention that “Together with the unfortunately undocumented change of last patch that increased the armor penetration ability of less well-placed shots for EAT-17s and Recoilless Rifle shots, Chargers should now be easier to handle by well-equipped groups.” Pair this with the reduction of Charger and Bile Titan spawns at higher difficulties and players might just be able to hop to the next difficulty level. It’s a good time to dive back in and liberate planets in the name of Super Earth and democracy. Now that Chargers are less of a threat, you can take them out first before clearing out weaker enemies. But remember that while their spawn rates are lowered, the other bugs will arrive in greater numbers to compensate.
