It has been an exhausting time to be a Helldivers 2 player, especially one that keeps up to date with everything going on in the game and within the community. Following Sony’s announcement that all players must connect a PSN account to Steam to keep playing the game, there has been a lot of in-fighting among the community online.

With the new week ahead, hopefully, Sony will address the concerns of the community, including those in the 170 countries that saw the game completely removed from Steam. But, until then, the community is out in force leaving negative reviews to vent their frustration, and it has led to the game hitting a new milestone.

According to Steamdb, Helldivers 2 now has the most negative reviews on Steam of any paid game on the platform. The game also ranks fourth for any game on Steam, with the top three all being free-to-play titles, Counter-Strike 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Dota 2. Helldivers 2 beats out the next game with the most negative reviews, Call of Duty, by over 150,000 negative reviews at the time of writing.

This comes after the development team, including Arrowhead Game Studios’ CEO, encouraged the negative reviews to help make Sony take notice that forcing players to link an account is the wrong move by the publisher, especially as players in the majority of the world can’t access PSN services. Only time will tell as to whether this has a positive effect on the game. And if it does, we encourage any player who left a negative review to change it back to a positive one as many players go off Steam ratings when determining whether to buy the game.

If you’re still one of the 100,000+ concurrent players that are playing Helldivers 2, a new Major Order is set to be released later this week following the deactivation of the Terminid Control System. With the Terminids building a super colony, it is more important than ever to ensure we’re bringing democracy to the galaxy. To do this, we highly recommend checking out our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide and best armor guide so you can be equipped to serve liber-tea on every enemy that stands in your way of freedom.
