It appears Arrowhead are preparing massive reinforcements for the Illuminate. While nothing is official besides nerfs part of the recent update 01.003.103, there have been several leaks regarding new members possibly joining the army of squids against humanity. These HD2 leaks already have me scared for what could possibly be coming, but what’s even worse is that the leaks just won’t stop as yet another new Helldivers 2 Illuminate enemy has leaked, and this one is another stronger variant.
Yet another new Helldivers 2 Illuminate enemy has leaked
Renowned leaker, Iron_S1ghts, has been sharing the Illuminate’s plans for reinforcements. Their newest leak reveals a unit referred to as Sentinels.
Per Iron_S1ghts, this enemy unit would be the “Cultists alternative to the Harvester”. Apparently, Sentinels are weaker than the Harvester, but they have the much better trade-off of moving faster and boasting “more powerful abilities”.
As for what their abilities include, the enemy is reportedly able to fire a “deathball” at long ranges, and this acts as a “homing projectile”.
Lastly, Iron_S1ghts explained in a reply that, while they don’t believe Sentinels will be scrapped, “It just has a higher likelihood to be than most leaks”. This is because the Sentinels is a unit that “got their functions completely overwritten by the Illuminate we have. So, if they were to return, it would be under different function names”.
If you haven’t been keeping up with the Illuminate’s secret plans being uncovered, recent leaks have revealed a unit described as a deadly “sniper and close-range assassin,” and the curtain has been pulled aside on more new units as well as the returning Illusionist. Just yesterday we also covered leaks about the Observer, which is the only other unit Iron_S1ghts has said might be scrapped.
Remember that these are only leaks rather than anything official, and there’s also no ETA for when any of them might join the army of squids on the war scene. While Arrowhead have not announced anything, it does appear the Illuminate will retaliate for their humiliating loss in the Battle of Super Earth, and this time they will be much stronger.
