PlayStation finally removed regional restrictions from Helldivers 2, which is good news for everyone as Super Earth soldiers will need as much support as possible for combating the Illuminate. Yes, we won the Battle of Super Earth and had the enemy running back with its tail between its legs, but it appears we have not yet felt their full wrath. Recent HD2 leaks have revealed two new terrifying cultists named the Xenobite and Outcast, and now Helldivers 2 leaks have revealed even more new Illuminate enemies ready to join the battlefield, including a deadly foe back with a vengeance.
Helldivers 2 leak reveals new and returning Illuminate enemies
On their own Discord, Iron_S1ghts recently leaked new Illuminate cultists referred to as Xenobite and the Outcast. Now they have just leaked three new cultists on the way referred to as Zealot, Magus Adept, and the Illusionist. Yes, according to leaks, the infamous Illusionist is returning from HD1.
We can’t share images of the leaks for copyright reasons, but we can relay the descriptions provided by Iron_S1ghts. Starting with the Zealot, this is reportedly “One of the more powerful cultists… [as] it can summon a wide range of Illuminate enemies”. The Zealot’s “main weapon is a whip charged with some sort of ‘void’ energy,” according to Iron_S1ghts.
The Zealot “can open a temporary warp gate, which arcs out lightning. When this lightning makes contact with anything, it opens an ‘Astral Rift,’ releasing another type of unit”. Iron_S1ghts refers to this unit as “ghouls,” and the leaker will share more details in the future.
Unfortunately, there’s no description for Magus Adept, but there is for the returning Illusionist. According to Iron_S1ghts, the Illusionist is the “strongest unit”. It’s claimed that the Illusionist can “summon pretty much every unit below him, and has a wide range of ‘void magic’ abilities”. Lastly, when you kill the Illusionist, it “does a quick ritual, and disappears in an explosion”.
Remember that these are only leaks rather than anything official. Previously, Arrowhead CCO, Pilestedt, has warned players “don’t want the Illusionist to return,” but it’s pretty clear from all the fan demand that Super Earth soldiers are gluttons for punishment. Again, it’s not official that the Illusionist is returning, nor is there an ETA for when these new cultists could reinforce the army of squids.
