Helldivers 2 dev shares how to avoid frustrating bug that will “hopefully” be patched soon

Arrowhead are working on a new update for Helldivers 2 following patch 01.003.103. The developer has just confirmed that the inbound new update will alleviate some of the frustrations players are facing with the Leviathan. The developer has also teased possibly gifting players a free reward that was promised over a year ago. Now the developer has said they will “hopefully” soon patch an annoying bug that is ruining one of the features in Helldivers 2.

On the Helldivers Discord, Arrowhead QA lead, Jojo, responded to complaints about the frequent crashing involving weapon customization. A user posted that their game had crashed three times in a row during weapon customization and asked if there is any way to avoid the problem.

One user posted it’s a “gamble 50/50, no way to avoid it,” but Jojo shared it can be avoided by “switch[ing] through the options slowly”. The developer also said, “we [Arrowhead] will be patching it soon hopefully”.

On the Helldivers official Reddit, there have been numerous posts reporting frequent crashing during weapon customization. It happens on PS5 as well as PC, so it is not platform specific, and complaints date back at least a month.

While changing “options slowly” might help in preventing the game from crashing, it’s obviously not an ideal solution. It’s good to know that Arrowhead are aware of the problem and intending to fix it soon, but we unfortunately don’t know exactly when the next update will arrive. Hopefully the update arrives this week, but nothing has been announced.
