There are a lot of requests fans have for Helldivers 2. Arrowhead know there is demand to make the game more difficult, but they can’t simply add more enemies to the battlefield. There was also the request for HD2 to come to Xbox consoles, and that is a dream becoming reality in just a few weeks. While the dream of Xbox recruits joining Super Earth is becoming reality soon, another dream Helldivers 2 fans have is Eagle-1 appearing on the Super Destroyer, but it’s probably best for democracy that she stays well away.

Helldivers 2 fans wonder why Eagle-1 does not appear on the Super Destroyer

Eagle-1 is famous within the Helldivers community. She’s never been seen, but she is an NPC pilot that provides support in the form of delivering Eagle stratagems. We have never seen her appear in the game, but some fans have considered reposted artwork with over 2M views and 52K likes as her ‘canon’ appearance.

Truthfully, we don’t know what she looks like, and, on Reddit, OP Amanovbaur has asked, “Why Eagle 1 pilot is not on the bridge of Super Destroyer between operations?”. The OP elaborated, “Instead of her we have two NPCs no one cares for”.

While Arrowhead have previously debunked a shocking rumor about Eagle-1 having her legs chopped off, they haven’t confirmed her appearance nor explained why she doesn’t physically appear in-person. One of the top replies on Reddit rationalizes that she doesn’t appear on the Super Destroyer “Because she’s ALWAYS ready to go and we’re ALWAYS on operations”.

Another interesting fan theory reckons that “Eagle-1 is actually the granddaughter of General Brasch [and] Being related to such an upstanding AAA-class citizen, she gets her own private Super Destroyer so she doesn’t have to interact with the riff-raff”. This would also explain why she “never gets in trouble for ‘accidentally’ bombing Helldivers”.

One of the more amusing theories is that “she’s not real,” and instead there are “multiple eagle pilots using her pre-recorded voice to hype us up”. Of course, descending into degeneracy, nearly all the replies point out that it wouldn’t be good for her to appear “Because if she did, the helldivers would be too distracted for them to spread democracy” as “Goondivers would never leave the Super Destroyer”.

Easily the most disturbing comment can’t be repeated here, but the reply summed it up perfectly saying, “every day we stray further from the light of Super God”.

It’s highly unlikely Eagle-1 will ever make a physical appearance in Helldivers 2, and it’s probably for the best. While there is the joke that HD2 players would spend too much time thirsting over Eagle-1, keeping her appearance a mystery leaves it up to player imagination, and it keeps her cemented as a faceless (and bodyless) revered legend. Not appearing in person also keeps the mystique so players can spread and think up their own fables such as her not being real or having her legs chopped off.
