You’ve probably seen all the clips on social media of Helldivers 2 players in massive mechs, terrorising every enemy in their path. And while we’ve all wanted to get in on the action, these mechs have appeared completely at random, with only a few lucky players getting the chance to try them out.Luckily, that chance is coming to the rest of us pretty soon.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Helldivers 2 account officially announced that the mechs will be heading to the game in a future update. The post features a propaganda poster featuring the mechs, known as the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit, with the words ‘Tien Kwan Factories are rolling out’ and ‘On the battlefield soon’.

Developers Arrowhead Game Studios have been smashing it with their marketing lately, and this is just the latest way they’ve managed to build excitement around the game. Adding the mechs as a random event has hyped players up for it in a way that simply announcing them in an update could never have, and it’s got Helldivers everywhere chomping at the bit to try them out.

We don’t know how these mechs will work in-game yet. They might be special stratagems, or only available during certain mission types. However they work, we’re incredibly excited to try them out for ourselves.

As for when they arrive, we think players won’t have long to wait at all. With an upcoming update bringing the next Warbond to the game, we wouldn’t be surprised to see these mechs being a part of this major update.

Whenever they drop, players are sure to be scrambling onto the game to try them out, so hopefully we won’t be facing a repeat of the server troubles the game has faced since launch. If that’s the case, be sure to check out if Helldivers 2 is down, and how to get around the server cap if you can’t get in.
