Arrowhead has recently released two massive updates for Helldivers 2. The first influx of buffs came out in September, and then the second came out earlier this week. While most of the weapon buffs and changes have been well received, Arrowhead is “tracking” a popular Helldivers 2 weapon that was absolutely butchered in the latest patch.
Make sure to check out the update 01.001.104 patch notes to see all of the changes recently implemented by Arrowhead. As for the future, the Liberty Day release date is getting even closer, and leaks have revealed more exciting details about clans. Not only that, but new leaks have shared information about a Destiny-like addition, too.
Liberty Day should be fantastic, but right now we’re still dealing with the aftermath of the latest Helldivers 2 update. Again, the vast majority of the patch has been well received, but a lot of players are not happy with the Punisher Plasma.
Helldivers 2 dev is “tracking” Punisher Plasma
We recently reported that the Helldivers 2 patch devastated one of the coolest weapons in the game, and uproar over the status of the Punisher Plasma has not stopped. It was merely mentioned in the patch notes that the update reduced the Plasma Punisher’s recoil and increased its fire rate from 80 to 100, but the weapon has been absolutely butchered in the eyes of players.
On Discord, Reddit, and other social media forums, there is a lot of complaints about the Punisher Plasma. A lot of players say it’s the only change they dislike from the most recent update, but it’s a downgrade so significant that the weapon no longer feels good to use.
There have also been complaints about the collision detection, and YouTuber SwanyPlaysGames has said it feels completely different, and it feels as though Arrowhead implemented some “secret stealth nerfs”.
As for what they dislike about the weapon, SwanyPlaysGames has said “the range on this weapon has been significantly nerfed” and “now it feels like you shoot more balls more often and they don’t do as much damage”.
Much of the community is hoping Arrowhead will revert the changes or at least give the weapon a buff. While nothing is confirmed, the good news is that Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, has confirmed on X that Arrowhead is aware of the complaints and are “tracking”.
