We’ve only had one collaboration in Helldivers 2, and that was Killzone back in December. The collaboration with the deceased PlayStation franchise was excellent, and since then fans have been craving more crossovers with famous IPs. Arrowhead has previously discussed IPs that can and won’t be considered for HD2, and now players can add Crysis to the list of possibilities as a Helldivers 2 dev has encouraged Crytek to get in contact.
Helldivers 2 dev encourages Crytek to get in contact for Crysis collaboration
On the Helldivers Discord, QA lead, Jojo, was asked, “Is it possible we can get a collaboration between Helldivers and Crisis? Helldivers really reminds me of Crisis 3 especially with the tentacles through the city buildings this new update”.
Despite the user accidentally referring to Crysis as “Crisis,” the QA lead understood the request and said that “any collaboration that fits has potential”. Jojo also said, “so if Crytek want to send us an email and talk about it they should”.
Crysis would be a sick collaboration for a Helldivers 2 Warbond. The Nanosuit armor is absolutely iconic, and the Predator Bow from Crysis 3 would be a fantastic weapon. There’s no guarantee a Crysis Warbond will ever materialize, but, although the odds are massively slim, it’s at least good news that it’s not a collaboration Arrowhead are opposed to unlike Destiny and Star Wars.
In addition to Crysis, Jojo was asked if there has been any development involving a crossover with Deep Rock Galactic. This stems from the Deep Rock Galactic devs openly calling for a collaboration with HD2. Arrowhead’s QA lead responded, “Not that I’m aware of though I love DRG. but even if there was it would be secret”.
Deep Rock Galactic and Crysis are just two possible crossovers for HD2. Previously, Arrowhead has teased the possibility of teaming up with Warhammer, and a Warhammer 40K weapon has seemingly leaked.
Another possibility is Dead Space. There are no leaks to suggest this will happen, but Arrowhead CEO, Shams Jorjani, has told EA to “get in touch!”.
