One of the main criticisms that Arrowhead Game Studios receives is that it lacks transparency when it comes to chances made to Helldivers 2. Following the backlash surrounding the Escalation of Freedom update, players are calling for greater communication to stop this happening with future patches.

Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, recently took to X to say that he and the developers have been listening to feedback regarding the recent Helldivers 2 Escalation of Freedom update. Players took to the replies to share more feedback and offer suggestions, including @TnG_Adam who asked whether Arrowhead would consider doing community streams to give insights on the direction the game is going in to help build trust with the community.
“Perhaps look at 343 Industries and their community play-dates and regular streams with the devs. Should build transparency and foster a community,” they said. This came after Arrowhead and Sony hosted a stream to promote the new update, which saw a mixed reception. Jorjani replied saying this was on the cards saying “We’re going to be running our own streams with a different setup. I like the Warframe devlogs.”
This will be a great idea as it will allow the developers to explain why certain decisions have been made regarding buffs, nerfs, and other changes made to the game. It will also allow them to gain feedback from the Helldivers 2 community in real-time, which could lead to some decisions being scrapped before an update goes live if it is evident that players don’t want it implemented.
It now looks like we could see Arrowhead Game Studios revert the changes made to fire, which is the primary reason for the community backlash. This is great news, especially as the Freedom’s Flame Warbond has just been released. While we wait for the changes to be reverted, now is a great time to optimize your loadout.
