Let’s answer that question for you with what we know so far.

Does God of War Ragnarok Have a New Game Plus mode?

At the time of writing, God of War Ragnarok does not have a new game plus mode. Once you’ve finished the game and got all the collectibles and otherwise 100%d everything the game has to offer, all you can do is start a fresh save and begin again at power Level 1.

However, this won’t be the case for long. Read about the latest news down below!

Did God of War (2018) Have a New Game Plus mode?

The previous God of War game did have a New Game Plus mode, but it wasn’t in the game at launch.

Instead, it was added in a substantial update some four months after the game’s release. The New Game Plus addition didn’t just scale up the enemies, but also changed up some of the encounters and things like attack patterns to give even veteran players a new challenge.

In fact, the New Game Plus mode in that game even had its own difficulty options, meaning players could make their second run through even harder or easier as they saw fit.

In the mode, skills, Hacksilver, armour and accessories would carry across, along with any unlocked Runic Attacks. However, things earned in the story – such as Kratos’ Chaos Blades – were removed and had to be earned once more.

To help, players could craft and discover new armour and new weapons with even greater stats – and a new resource called Skap Slag that allowed players to create some of the most powerful armour in the game known as Perfect Rarity Armor.

Will God of War Ragnarok Get a New Game Plus mode?

Yes it will! A New Game Plus mode will be coming to God of War Ragnarok in the Spring of 2023, per the announcement from Santa Monica Studio today on Twitter. This is huge news and finally answers the call of many God of War fans who’ve been waiting for this feature for quite some time.

Per Santa Monica Studio, fans can expect to know more about the New Game Plus mode once the launch date draws closer in the new year.
