The impressive figure means that not only has the game broken the franchise record for God of War, but also for becomes the fastest selling first party launch title on the PlayStation.

Launching on November 9 to great critical and commercial acclaim – God of War Ragnarok’s been picking up plenty of plaudits along the way; including a sparkling review from us at VideoGamer.

The game’s also up for a bunch of nods at the upcoming The Game Awards due to take place next month, including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative and many more.

Sony’s made the announcement as players eagerly await the arrival of the game’s promised Photo Mode. There’s also been plenty of requests for a New Game Plus mode and DLC too.

Of course, many people are wondering if the game will come to PC – just as the previous entry finally arrived earlier this year. At the current time, there’s no word – but we’ll keep a keen eye out.
