Bad news for those holding out for further adventures in the dense world of God of War Ragnarok, the acclaimed action-adventure from Santa Monica Studio is unlikely to get any form of DLC.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Kinda Funny Games podcast, game director Eric Williams explained that there are currently no plans for God of War Ragnarok DLC. When asked whether fans should expect DLC in the future, Williams said not to ‘count on it’, noting “Uhh I don’t know man, that game is big. I think we put everything we had into it, so I wouldn’t count on it.”
Though there’s likely no shortage of players eager to extend their time with Kratos, it comes as no surprise that DLC isn’t on the cards as 2018’s God of War didn’t receive any either. The game’s launch was followed by the usual procession of post-launch patches to polish up the game and add a few choice features like New Game Plus and a Photo Mode, but nothing to expand the game’s core experience or story.

God of War Ragnarok Photo Mode and New Game Plus
As for God of War Ragnarok, we’re expecting a Photo Mode soon, with Santa Monica Studio confirming that the feature would arrive after release, though stopped short of specifying an exact time frame. The studio promised to share more details closer to when it plans to release the mode. We’re also likely to see New Game Plus added at some point in the future, though we’ve yet to receive firm confirmation from Santa Monica Studios.
Though any DLC is highly unlikely at this point, God of War Ragnarok contains no shortage of secrets and post-game content.
