- The Mythic Goldfish was first introduced in Chapter 2 Season 1
- It can be found as floor loot, in chests, supply drops and from fishing
- It is a throwable item that can one-hit enemy players with a direct hit
Epic Games surprised everyone by dropping Fortnite Reload at the start of July mashing up various areas from old Fortnite maps together for players to fight it out in a smaller map. But it’s not just old maps that have made a return, as plenty of fan favourite weapons have come back too, including the Mythic Goldfish.
Whether you were playing back in Chapter 2 when it was first added to the game, or are trying it out for the first time, this is one weapon you don’t want to miss out on. That’s why we’ve put together a quick guide to tell you how to get it for yourself in-game, and what makes it so powerful.
How to get the Mythic Goldfish
There’s no secret to finding yourself a Mythic Goldfish in matches, as the only ways you can get it are in from chests or by fishing. Regardless of what method you use, the drop rate is incredibly low. We would recommend focusing on looking for chests. You might not find one as easily as you would otherwise, but with so many chests all over the map, this is probably your best way to maximise your chances of finding one.
How rare is the Mythic Goldfish?
When we say the Mythic Goldfish is rare, we’re not joking around. By opening chests, you’ve got around a 0.08% chance of finding yourself a Mythic Goldfish, but the odds for finding one by fishing are even worse. You’ve got around a one-in-a-million chance of bagging yourself a Mythic Goldfish by fishing, so it’s really not even worth trying this method at all.
How to use the Mythic Goldfish
The Mythic Goldfish is one of, if not the most powerful item in Fortnite history, as it can one-hit players if you land a direct hit. It’s a throwable, so you use it in the same way you would use a grenade, taking it out, aiming and then throwing it.
Just be aware that it doesn’t explode like a grenade will – you need to score a direct hit for it to work. If you miss, your enemies can actually pick it up themselves and throw it back at you, so don’t go chucking them around willy-nilly!
