Members of the Fortnite subreddit aren’t best pleased with Fortnite’s latest season, with some saying that Wilds is causing them to lose interest in the game.

A user by the name of Hypernova-enjoyer has posted a thread entitled “This season hasn’t been great, was really fun the first week but it’s just getting stale fast” and it appears to be a sentiment that many other members of the community are agreeing with and comparing Wilds unfavourably to previous seasons. “Each week a story quest, tons of new IO and alien weapons, alien abductions, alien facehuggers, tons of POI changes, drivable UFOs, kymera upgrades, a full concert in game, a banger season ending… now it’s just a wreck” claims yoman1030.

Not even the lustre of the Transformers in the game’s battle pass is convincing people to stay. “After I get Optimus I’ll go on a break till next season,” says creativeguy66v3. “Hopefully that one is better all season. Honestly this whole chapter might be my least favourite because it just feels like each season loses its reason to play after half the season.” “Optimus isn’t even worth it to me,” concurs iikoppiee “It’s kind of a bland skin and there’s not much customisation. I miss the t100s being actually good and not collabs, and having customisation.”

Charming-Reputation8 is even more damning and doesn’t pull any punches with their evaluation of the season. “I think this season was stale on arrival. The Transformers collab feels phoned in, the new jungle biome is an eyesore to me personally, the weapons don’t feel great to use at all, Epic apparently has a thing against snipers nowadays, I have zero use for the current augments and the Battle Pass is a stinker.”

It seems things like the recent Fortnite Summer Escape events haven’t done enough to help matters either, with players already asking when does the current Fortnite season end? Given Fortnite Wilds is set to last until the end of August, it seems it’s still a fair few weeks away yet. For now, players are hoping Epic can inject a little more life into the season before it’s too late.
