Epic Games released a new Fortnite update on Wednesday night, making the game more balanced. The update is small and requires no download, so it was automatically applied. It brought no new content, only a couple of balance changes that should make the game better. Once again, Epic nerfed one of the new items, but we also received a buff to one of them.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at all the changes that arrived with the latest Fortnite patch.

The last Fortnite update buffed Shuri’s Claws

Shuri’s Black Panther Claws is the newest item in Fortnite. It was added with the v31.10 update last week and is fun to play with. What makes these claws special is that they are a melee-only item. Furthermore, the player carrying them is able to use new animations, which look amazing. However, it appears that the item hasn’t been very popular so far, so Epic Games buffed it with the latest update.

These are all the changes that were released:

  • Maximum speed multiplier from 1.54x to 1.72x
  • Maximum supercharged speed multiplier from 1.82x to 2.15x
  • Pounce Dash speed increased
  • Distance for the pounce is now around 15 meters

Besides this, Epic nerfed the drop rate of War Machine’s Hover Jets from Avengers Chests. Not only will this item drop less frequently from now on, but other Avenger items will have an increased drop rate, including Shuri’s Claws. Due to this, we expect the melee item to be much more popular over the next few weeks.

The next Fortnite update is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, and it will bring a lot of new content. Besides new cosmetics, map changes, and new items, it won’t be surprising if the Fortnite developer releases more balance changes. So far in Season 4, the game has been quite balanced, and that is what Epic is trying to achieve with all of these changes.
