Fortnite developer Epic Games has decided to vault the Kinetic Boomerang due to an issue that saw players losing control whenever they rebooted. Now, instead of the deadly flying weapon wreaking havoc throughout the map, it has now been replaced by a familiar looking Pump Shotgun clone called the Sharp Tooth Shotgun.

Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that this isn’t actually the long-awaited return of the Pump Shotgun as this is merely an eerie looking doppelgänger that operates the same way as the classic weapon. According to its specs, though, the Sharp Tooth Shotgun apparently boasts a tighter spread, a longer range, and approximately 160 headshot damage at Legendary quality, meaning you can easily snipe other players from a respectable distance, but you’ll have to take two shots to down them.

Unfortunately, if you’re a fan of the Kinetic Boomerang weapon, then you’ll have to wait indefinitely for its return as the announcement from the official Fortnite Status account doesn’t indicate when it’ll be brought back to the game. However, one observant Reddit user has pointed out that the Boomerang likely won’t come back “until after Epic’s summer vacation, which starts next week” and ends on July 17th. “Some time after that is when they’ll get it fixed and bring it back. It’s the Deku’s Smash situation all over again,” they continued.

On the other hand, a number of comments under the same thread were particularly disappointed upon the Kinetic Boomerang’s removal as one disgruntled player said they “just want this Kinetic weapon era to end if they’re all just constantly going to break the game in some way.” Hopefully, the short break will allow the developers to address all of the ongoing issues for these new pieces of gear so players can start enjoying them without running into any trouble.

While you wait for these fixes, though, we suggest checking out our guides on all augments for Chapter 4 Season 3, all Chapter 4 Season 3 locations and biomes, and how to ride raptors so you can easily navigate all of the content that the latest update has to offer.
