UK-based PlayStation Studio Firesprite seem to be working on a horror game, according to a new job listing.

As spotted by Video Games Chronicle, the Liverpool developers are recruiting for a Narrative Director role on their website. It was this job listing that has given away the new title, which will apparently be a “AAA narrative driven-horror” game.

Of course, there’s not too much given away about further details yet, other than it will use Unreal Engine 5. The successful applicant, whoever it may be, will be responsible for project storytelling and helping to establish the game’s universe. This sounds like it might mean the game is a new IP, but we can’t say for sure just yet.

The studio seems to be very busy since it was officially acquired by PlayStation back in September of last year. Earlier this year the studio revealed that it’ll be collaborating with Guerrilla Games on Horizon: Call of the Mountain, a VR entry in the Horizon series for PSVR 2. According to yet-unconfirmed rumours, they’re also working on a Twisted Metal reboot.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more about this new horror game from Firesprite in due course. The studio’s most recent game was The Persistence for the PlayStation 4’s PSVR, released back in 2018.
