Final Fantasy 14 fans are in for a massively pleasing surprise as Square Enix has announced the release date for their gameâs next expansion entitled Dawntrail and it is currently slated for Summer 2024. According to game producer and director Naoki Yoshidaâs in-depth presentation made during the annual North American FFXIV Fan Festival, the new expansionâs theme will apparently revolve around âa journey of discoveryâ that will bring players to a completely different world called Tural.
Of course, this new world will also bring a bevy of unfamiliar territories, which include a mountain region called Urqopacha as well as a forest-based locale named Yak Tâel. Naturally, these areas will also bring in a wave of new allied tribes such as the diminutive, mask-wearing Pelupelu. Aside from these content additions, other changes arriving include a level cap increase from 90 to 100, along with multiple new jobs, though the names of these are yet to be confirmed.
Throughout the course of the showcase, beloved community icon Yoshi-P also revealed more goodies thatâll be arriving with the DLC such as new variant dungeons, a new alliance raid, a new 8-player raid, a new ultimate raid, and a prominent PvP update. Changes will also apparently be made to the Blue Mage, and several graphical improvements are similarly set to be integrated once the Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail expansion drops in Summer 2024.
Predictably enough, most of the updates revealed in the event were still largely vague as the release window is still far off. However, we will most likely get more details the closer we get to the launch date so thereâs plenty to get excited about if youâre a fan of Square Enixâs critically acclaimed MMORPG. If you want to learn more, though, we recommend checking out the official trailer.
