Is there anything as satisfying as having your character be able to ball out with a cool home or apartment in any game? May it be an elder scrolls game, a grand theft auto game, or, the topic of today, Final Fantasy XIV, having a place your character can call home adds an unmatched level of immersion.

Of course, there are other advantages to owning a home in FFXIV aside from having gloating rights, such as being able to decorate the space as you see fit with fixtures and furniture.

We’re here to go through how to get an apartment in FFXIV, as well as some of the set requirements you have to meet before making such a huge purchase.

Requirements of Getting an Apartment in Final Fantasy XIV

Before you make your purchase, there are a couple of things you need to do first, with the most important one being that you have to be at level 50 with at least one class. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be a specific class, so if you continue to level up your starting class then chances are you’ll hit level 50 soon enough.

The second requirement is that you have to reach the rank of second lieutenant in your chosen grand company (the Maelstrom, the Order of the Twin Adder, or the Immortal Flames). It isn’t made clear how to reach this rank in the game, but the fastest way is definitely by completing hunting challenges from the logs menu. Collect enough points to rank up and continue doing so until you reach the second lieutenant position.

Finally, you need to have 500,000 gil exactly. No more no less. Well, technically you can have more, but you need this amount exactly to buy an apartment

Buying an Apartment in Final Fantasy XIV

Now, that you’ve met all the requirements, all that’s needed is to actually buy an apartment. You can buy an apartment in any of Final Fantasy XIV’s four residential districts, those being The Mist, Lavender Beds, The Goblet, and Shirogane. Of course, you need to have had made it to Stormblood if you want the one in Shirogane.

All the aforementioned districts have an apartment complex. The Topmast, Lily Hills, Sultana’s Breath, and Kobi Goten respectively. Although every apartment room in the game always costs 500,000 gil regardless of where you’re purchasing it from, there are only so many available rooms in every world.

Because of this, the only way of knowing whether there’s a vacant room in a specific district is by going to the apartment complex yourself and speaking with the NPC standing behind the counter. Luckily, every complex has two divisions, so the total available rooms come out to a whopping 17,280 rooms per world.

Luckily, buying an apartment room is much cheaper than buying a total estate, as the prices of estates go in the millions VERY easily as compared to the consistent and stable apartment price.

Final Thoughts

Getting an apartment might be expensive, but it’s definitely worth it, and now you know how to buy one for yourself. Just remember that you can only have one apartment room per character, although a single character can own both an apartment room and an estate.
