FIFA 23 TOTY (Team of the Year) release date prediction – when is TOTY released?

We are now just over 24 hours away from the next big promo in FIFA 23, and one of the biggest promos of the year. We can’t wait to see who is released, so take a look below at exactly when we can expect the FIFA 23 TOTY to release.

The World Cup has finished, 2022 has ended and it is time to reflect on the last 12 months of football, by looking at who will be in the Team of the Year (TOTY) in FIFA 23.

For those who don’t know much about FIFA’s TOTY event, it sees the community vote for the best players of the year from a long list of nominations. From here, a team is then formed, which is revealed typically a couple of weeks after voting.

Each player in the team will see a significant boost to their stats, and become one of the top players in the game. This usually results in their base cards getting their values slashed, so if you’re after a cheap deal on the FUT market, you could well be in luck.

The likes of Karim Benzema, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and more are but a handful of stars who have been nominated for the illustrious team this year – which was initially revealed on the dedicated EA Sports FIFA Twitter. You can vote for your favourites right now on the official EA SPORTS FIFA website.

We normally see a 12th player released as well, who is also fan voted and then a squad of honourable mentions. So let’s take a look at when we can expect the game shattering promo to release in FIFA 23.

FIFA 23 TOTY Release Date Prediction

The Team of the Year in FIFA is often released towards the end of January. This has yet to be confirmed by EA Sports, but looking at previous years we know when to expect it.

We believe this year’s Team of the Year could be released in FIFA 23 on Friday the 20th of January.

Although we expect this to be staggered with only the first batch of players released on the 20th, the others will then release gradually after the 20th as listed below:

• 22/01/23: TOTY Midfielders released in FUT 23 packs 

• 23/01/23: 12th man vote opens 

• 24/01/23: TOTY Defenders/Goalkeeper released in FUT 23 packs 

• 26/01/23: TOTY Ultimate XI squad released in FUT 23 packs 

We then expect to see a honourable mentions squad as well as the 12th man. It will be an exciting festival of football, with the best players to have released so far up for grabs.

We now know to also expect a TOTY Icons squad which we have never seen before in FIFA. This will be a first time these cards appear in FIFA 23 and we can’t wait to see what is in store. There are a few leaks already of who might feature.

Although we can’t be sure on the exact day FIFA 23 will release their Team of the Year, we do know what time it will come.

The Team of the Year will be released at the same time as every Promo in FIFA 23 at 6PM GMT / 1PM ET / 10AM PT.
