Bioware has confirmed the official title of the next Dragon Age game as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

The studio revealed the new title in a brief announcement today on the company’s official blog. While it didn’t reveal too many more details, it did confirm that Solas will indeed be the game’s antagonist. The blog post even noted a tweeted clue it dropped from way back in 2018 in which the studio said “#TheDreadWolfRises”.

We get a bit of a tease in the announcement post on Solas for those who might not be familiar. “Some say he might be an ancient elven god, but some say not. Others say a betrayer of his people…or a savior who now seeks to rescue them at the cost of your world. His motives are inscrutable and his methods sometimes questionable, earning him a reputation as something of a trickster deity—a player of dark and dangerous games.”

Of course, Solas has appeared several times in what little we’ve seen of the game so far so it’s not entirely news that he’d be a part of the game. But still we got a new title. As for any further information, we’ll have to wait a little while longer to find out. Bioware has said “That’s all we have for now, but we hope knowing the official title has sparked some intrigue, as we’ll be talking more about the game later this year!”

We got our last update on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf back in February, where Bioware declared the game to be “right in the middle” of production. We don’t have release dates, formats or anything else yet, so watch this space for more.
