The gripping Diablo 4 campaign quickly became one of the game’s most applauded elements as soon as Blizzard’s fourth main line series installment was launched towards the beginning of June 2023. Unfortunately, the game’s dramatic story could only be experienced on the first two World Tiers, which is why some fans are now asking the developers to add a campaign replay option that allows them to experience the harrowing demonic tale once again, but at a higher difficulty.
Over on Reddit, a player named SnooCrickets2458 created a post ahead of the Diablo 4 Season 1 start date simply asking Blizzard to let them “replay the campaign at a higher difficulty/world tier.” Those commenting below the same thread predictably shared the same sentiment as GimlionTheHunter said that “bosses not being repeatable is a strict downgrade from every previous iteration of Diablo.”
A responder named Bra1nss, on the other hand, seemed largely frustrated at the exclusion of a Diablo 4 campaign replay option after saying: “Yeah, why not give us [the chance] to replay the campaign on higher difficulty, which was always not only present as a feature in any other Diablo game, but also would generate extra content without Blizzard putting any effort into it.” “So many completely idiotic decisions were made in regards to D4 that I’m beginning to wonder if devs even know previous Diablo games,” they harshly continued.
Of course, the lack of a campaign replay option is undoubtedly a glaring omission as most of Diablo 4’s predecessors had previously given players the option to experience the story repeatedly, albeit at higher difficulties. Nevertheless, it’s still worth noting that the development team have largely been receptive towards these kinds of suggestions so it may eventually be added into the game at a later date.
