With the upcoming Diablo 4 beta weekend, eager fans are downloading the client now in the hope of being able to play as soon as the gates of the RPG open up.
Traditionally, Diablo games have been on the meatier side – and it looks like this latest entry is no exception. So, if you want to make sure you’ve got enough space for the beta – you’re in the right place.

To that end, here’s what we know about the download size for the Diablo 4 beta.

The size of the Diablo 4 beta preload is pretty large, clocking in on PC at 85GB on Battle.net.
On console – most reports agree that the filesize seems to clock in at around 75GB on Xbox Series X|S. We’ll try and update as and when we get any official confirmation.

However, it’s worth noting that apparently it does seem possible to reduce this filesize by some margin – according to fans on Twitter, you can go to ‘Modify Install’ on the options, and uncheck 4K textures.
Sure, the game won’t look quite as nice – but it should knock off enough from the filesize to bring it down to around 40GB.
Though we’ve yet to confirm, we’d assume that might be the size for the game’s Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, as those consoles don’t support 4K resolutions by default. We’ll investigate and try and find out when we can.

The Diablo 4 beta will first be available between March 17 and March 20 for those with an access code. Then, everyone else will be able to join in with the Diablo 4 open beta between March 24 and March 27.
Meanwhile, the full Diablo 4 game is set to arrive in June on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
