There’s a lot happening in the world of Destiny 2. Right now, fans have discovered an annoying stealth buff that needs to be fixed, meanwhile, Bungie has announced a slew of incoming nerfs. However, away from just D2, Bungie is also working on Marathon which is expected to come out sometime this year. While we don’t know many official details about the upcoming release right now, leaks suggest there will be DLC for Destiny 2 as part of pre-order bonuses for Marathon.
Leaks possibly reveal Destiny 2 DLC for Marathon pre-order bonus
Per BungieLeaks on X, there could possibly be Destiny 2 DLC as part of pre-order bonuses for Marathon. Bungie has reportedly been updating the SteamDB page for Marathon, and there is seemingly D2 DLC “linked to all Marathon editions”.
There’s no elaboration on what the DLC is, but it being tied to every edition suggests that it will be a pre-order bonus rather than something reserved for one of the more expensive editions of the game. More expensive editions for Marathon will be available to buy, and it remains to be seen what DLC is part of these packages.
Leaks have previously revealed Destiny 2 pre-order bonus DLC featuring an 80% dmg buff perk and fan-favorite D1 weapon, but it’s believed this is a pre-order bonus for Apollo. As for Marathon, we know it will be a premium release instead of free-to-play, and recent leaks have revealed Bungie’s plans for micotransactions and more.
While we don’t know what the pre-order bonuses are right now, it’s possible an announcement could be made soon. Marathon was expected to be part of Sony’s recent State of Play in February, but it wasn’t, and that’s reportedly because Bungie are planning a showcase dedicated to Marathon in spring.
Assuming this showcase rumor is true, this is likely where we will learn the game’s release date as well as all of the pre-order bonuses, editions, and more.
For more Destiny 2, players are getting unreleased weapons no one is supposed to get yet, and leaks have revealed an “80% damage buff” perk and weapon pre-order bonus presumably for Apollo.
