The MW2 community’s issues with the in-game report system has been well-documented since the game was first launched as it has often caused many innocent players to receive bans. Unfortunately, it seems like Infinity Ward and Raven Software still haven’t addressed the ongoing complaints of the fan base because players continue to receive unfair punishments until now.

Though new additions to the Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 weapons list and maps list made the game slightly more bearable for a time, the disappointment is once again starting to mount due to its broken behavioral system. So in order to vent out their frustrations, players have now taken to Reddit to bring more attention to this ever-present problem.

At the time of writing, several players have already made threads detailing how they’ve received warnings for their harmless usernames. One post creator even said that their username is merely made up of “an animal with numbers,” yet they still somehow got reported for it. The thread’s author would then reveal in a comment that an enemy player apparently reported them for getting killed too many times.

It’s this type of system abuse that’s causing several innocent players to suffer unfair penalties, such as chat and shadow bans. One user even reportedly received a 3-day communication ban for a voice chat violation even though they’ve never turned their microphone on once.

Others are simply wondering why Activision still haven’t done anything to fix it as this has been a well-known issue since the launch of MW2. Sadly, the impending arrival of the new 2023 CoD installment may be what’s causing this slow reaction as the video game company will most likely be pouring most of their resources into creating and improving the upcoming entry. Hopefully once it does get released, it won’t have any of these prevalent problems present within.
