What is Cocaine Bear?
A story inspired by real-life events that follow a drug runner’s plane crash, a missing shipment of cocaine, and the black bear that consumed said cocaine, in 1985.
This wild thriller finds numerous individuals from different backgrounds converging in a Georgia forest where the aforementioned 175-pound, coke-fueled predator is on a rampage.
As, having ingested a quite substantial amount of one of the world’s most infamous white powders. This bear is now out for more product…and blood.

The Cocaine Bear Cast and Prey
Despite the pure comedy that this title induces alone, one would think that the premise of a cocaine-addicted bear would be enough to sell any film.
Well, you’d be correct. But the fact that this film has a very talented cast only sweetens the deal even more.
Ray Liotta is an absolute icon in the acting world. A legendary actor known for his performances in Goodfellas, and Narc. Passing in May of this year, this serves as the last movie he filmed to cap off a tremendous life and career.
Keri Russell, is as a superb actress who began her career on the famous, Mickey Mouse Club in 1991. Before finding her breakout role as “Felicity Porter” in the WB’s popular series, Felicity (1998).
Jesse Tyler Ferguson is an actor and producer who became known for his work for Modern Family.
While, O’Shea Jackson Jr., has a background in both acting and music. The son of rapper Ice Cube, he made his Hollywood breakthrough portraying his father in the 2015 hit, Straight Outta Compton.
Cocaine Bear Director and Release Date
The director and producer of this real-life inspired retelling is none other than Elizabeth Banks. The actor-turned-director who now has several films under her belt as a director including Pitch Perfect 2, and the Charlie’s Angels reboot from 2019.
Cocaine Bear is currently set for a February 24, 2023, theatrical release.
