The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is right around the corner, much to the excitement of players wanting to load into the action as soon as possible. With no early access this year, fans are hoping the Black Ops 6 New Zealand trick works on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Black Ops 6 is expected to be the least toxic Call of Duty in history thanks to the introduction of new measures that aim to maintain the competitive nature of matches. Although developers have created a brand-new campaign along with the return of round-based Zombies, you’ll want to know how you can jump into multiplayer at the earliest possible moment.

It appears the Modern Warfare 3 New Zealand trick will work for 2024’s Call of Duty which is great news if you’re looking to play ahead of its official launch. This guide has all the intel on how to utilise the workaround so you can play before the rest of the world.

Does the Black Ops 6 New Zealand trick work?

An X post from CharlieINTEL says the New Zealand trick should work for Black Ops 6. The game rolls out on October 24 between 4 AM PT and 11 PM PT which is the equivalent of midnight local time for your respective region. New Zealand is one of the first countries in the world to strike 12 AM which is 3 AM PT on October 24, the day before Black Ops 6’s official launch.

For the New Zealand trick to work, you need to make sure the game is preloaded on your PC or console. Once the download is complete, you’re ready to load into matches as soon as the clock strikes midnight in New Zealand.

How to play Black Ops 6 early with New Zealand trick

If your copy is ready for action, the Black Ops 6 New Zealand trick will work at 3 AM PT / 6 AM PT / 12 PM BST on October 24. Once the time arrives, here are the steps you need to follow:

Xbox

  • Start the console and head to the Settings.
  • Click on System.
  • Select Language and Location.
  • Change the location to New Zealand.
  • Restart the console.
  • Switch it back on and start playing.

PlayStation

  • Head to the Call of Duty website.
  • Log into your Call of Duty account.
  • Select your profile and click on the Basic Info section.
  • Click on the address and enter a New Zealand address.
  • Save the changes and load up Black Ops 6.

PlayStation players can also override the locked menu tabs by joining the session of a friend who’s already used the New Zealand trick to their advantage. If you’re a CoD fan, playing a brand-new game nearly a whole day ahead of launch is worth it for a headstart on the opposition.
