Earning XP in Call of Duty is a staple of Activision’s shooter franchise. Whether it’s to reach the next Prestige or unlock another weapon, XP is the key to expanding your multiplayer arsenal and obtaining the best items the game has to offer.
Throughout the Black Ops 6 cycle, players have encountered several issues where they earn significantly lower amounts of XP than Treyarch intended. Now, a recent Black Ops 6 update has addressed the problem affecting several of the most popular game modes on offer enabling them to rank up at the intended rate.
Black Ops 6 update gives players correct XP amounts
As part of the December 12 update that rolled out across all platforms, Treyarch confirmed a total of five game modes will receive increased XP and Weapon XP earn rates which is a huge positive if you’re loading into them regularly. The modes with the improved rates are Domination, Headquarters, Kill Order, Search and Destroy, and Prop Hunt.
Grinding through the levels in Black Ops 6 has quickly become a tedious process with new weapons constantly being added to the ever-expanding arsenal and players continuing to work their way to the coveted title of Prestige Master. With the inconsistencies now addressed in the latest Black Ops 6 update, we’ll have to wait and see if it’s made a notable difference.
Players loading into the action often participate in double XP events where Treyarch switches the boost on for everyone. However, in recent weeks, many have branded the initiative a scam due to applying a 1.3x multiplier instead of doubling the amount players earn over the course of a match.
Will Black Ops 6 XP finally work?
Black Ops 6 players have experienced issues with XP throughout the majority of Season 1. With Season 2 on the horizon, fans are hoping Treyarch’s regular updates have finally addressed the problem. Despite the recent update, some are still encountering issues. “Match bonus still not fixed, Ninja still not fixed, cheating still not fixed but I’m glad I can get an extra 500 XP,” says one frustrated fan.
Treyarch is often quick to address any frustrating flaws in its games and it’s a positive to see it acting quickly to ensure players are earning the correct amount of XP whether you top the scoreboard or end up going double-negative.
