Collecting resources in Helldivers 2 is just as important as the mission you are completing. These are used to level up, unlock Stratagems, Ship Modules, and buy and unlock items in the Warbonds. Samples are used to unlock Ship Modules and, unlike the rest of the resources, they are dropped upon elimination and only the ones you are carrying with you as you board the ship will count.

U/Yurishenko94 took to Reddit to share a new idea called the Sample Evac Rocket. This new Stratagem would allow you to send the Samples you are carrying back to your ship, so if you get killed you won’t lose them. It is noted on the concept image that it can only be used once per mission.

Losing your Samples can be incredibly frustrating, especially if you are in an area populated by tough enemies, and retrieving them isn’t feasible. This would be great for collecting Super Samples as there aren’t many of those in missions and you need them to unlock the higher-level Ship Modules.

Another option would be for Samples to be automatically added to your total upon collection and you can’t drop them. This is the case for Requisition Slips, Medals, and Super Credits, when you find these during a mission they are automatically added to your account.

Players recently completed the latest Major Order, cutting off the supply lines to the Andromeda Sector. With the Automatons weakened, we will have to see what their next move is. Until then, it is best to continue to prepare for the next stage of the Galactic War. To do this, we highly recommend checking out our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide and best armor guide.
