With stealth sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem nearly upon us, many fans are wondering if the game is coming to Xbox Game Pass.

The original adventure – A Plague Tale Innocence – proved a sleeper hit when it launched in 2019. Publisher Focus are hoping the same will happen here; which will surely be helped by the confirmation the game will be a day one release on Xbox Game Pass.

So let’s answer the question then, along with some detail on which flavours of the Xbox service you’ll be able to get the game on.

Is A Plague Tale: Requiem coming to Xbox Game Pass?

Yes! A Plague Tale: Requiem will be available on Xbox Game Pass immediately from launch. That’s Tuesday, October 18 in case you didn’t know.

The game will be available on almost all existing versions of the service. So that’s PC, Xbox Series X|S and via the Cloud.

While the game isn’t officially on Xbox One, you should be able to play it on that system if you do it through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Can I preload A Plague Tale: Requiem on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes! You don’t have to wait for the game’s release to be able to pre-download the game ahead of its release.

On PC – you can find it in the PC Game Pass app under ‘Coming to Game Pass’ clocking in at 47.37 GB. On Xbox Series X|S the download clocks in at about 53GB.

You can start downloading right now, and it should unlock when the game releases.

Is A Plague Tale: Innocence on Xbox Game Pass?

Alas, not any more. If you’re wanting to play the first game ahead of the original – at the time of writing (October 2022) A Plague Tale Innocence is not on Xbox Game Pass.

It was on the service prior to September 2022, but left on September 15. There’s every chance it could return in the future, of course, but for now – you’ll have to buy the original should you want to play it.
