A Plague Tale: Requiem now has a release date, of October 18th, and a new trailer, showing ten minutes of gameplay.

Check out the new gameplay trailer below:

The description reads:

“In this new extended gameplay sequence, follow Amicia and Hugo as they make their way through a massive ochre-red quarry overwhelmed with soldiers eager to capture them. Fortunately, the duo has many new tricks up their sleeve and doesn’t shy away from getting their hands dirty. Watch how it all plays out and get ready to embark on their heart-rending journey into a brutal, breathtaking world, and discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival.”

We got out first look at A Plague Tale: Requiem earlier this month, during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase. It looked visually sumptuous, albeit with quite grisly subject matter. It is due for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/X, and PC. Plus, there is also a cloud-streaming version that will be available on Switch.

The new game is a sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. That game, developed by Asobo Studio, was a worthy adventure. In VideoGamer’s review, I said:

“A Plague Tale: Innocence has some clunky writing in places, and its play gets stale after a time, but it prevails with a compelling mystery and a beautiful world.”
