A Plague Tale: Requiem has a new gameplay trailer, shown during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, and it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch.

Check out the “End of Innocence” trailer below:

The description reads:

“Embark on a heartrending journey into a brutal, breathtaking world, and discover the cost of saving those you love in a desperate struggle for survival. Strike from the shadows or unleash hell with a variety of weapons, tools and unearthly powers.”

The fact that Requiem is coming to Game Pass is a turn up; it’s exactly the sort of interesting AA-style game that many may shy from taking a risk on.

The game appears to have more of a combat leaning than its predecessor, A Plague Tale: Innocence. That game, developed by Asobo Studio, was a worthy adventure. In VideoGamer’s review, I said:

“A Plague Tale: Innocence has some clunky writing in places, and its play gets stale after a time, but it prevails with a compelling mystery and a beautiful world.”

In the new game, the heroine, Amicia, seems a little hardened and steely. That makes sense, given the awful stuff that she and her brother, Hugo, had to go through in the first game. Forunately, for fans of the first game’s rats, A Plague Tale: Requiem has absolutely loads of them.
