The answer to this is yes and no… On one hand you do need to have Shadowlands to purchase Dragonflight but Shadowlands has actually been added to the subscription of the game so simply having a subscription means you own Shadowlands!

Can I play Dragonflight without Shadowlands?
Similar to whether you need to own Shadowlands in order to buy Dragonflight you will of course have to own it to play Dragonflight. As mentioned before you will own Shadowlands simply by having a subscription to the game so no need to worry, once you have your subscription and own Dragonflight you will be able to play!

What to do on Dragonflights release
With the release of Dragonflight there is a ton of content to be doing but first things first. It’s time to level! There will be 4 new zones to quest and level through allowing us players to discover the Dragon Isles and interact with the races of this strange new land. Some are a little more friendly than others…

Once you’ve done your questing and leveling you’ll then have a choice to make. You can either start gearing, start working on your reputations, unlock your dragon riding talents or dive into the new professions! A ton of content to explore and that’s not even everything that’s on offer!

When does Dragonflight season 1 begin
As has been the case with the last few expansions Blizzard is going to be releasing content for the expansion in seasons. These are when the new raid, mythic + and PVP content patches drop with new raids to explore, new dungeons to delve and new PVP ladders to climb.
The release season 1 is on the week of December 12th. So Tuesday the 13th for Na and Wednesday 14th for EU.

We will have the new raid, The Vault of the Incarnates, 4 new m+ dungeons, 4 returning dungeons that are being added to m+ and the rated PVP season is here!
This expansion has a truly unique mythic + system so I personally cannot wait to dive into that. They’re making it so we’ll have different dungeons every season to explore rather than the same ones over and over again for the whole expansion!
