  • Copper Ore is mined from nodes around the game world. It takes 20 Copper Ore to smelt 1 Copper Ingot in the Furnace over 30 seconds.
  • You can start Copper Ingot production by smelting Copper Ore early in the game, right after setting up your basic base.
  • Many recipes use Copper Ingots, including a lot of castle structures, so always look to produce more of them.

Like any good survival game, V Rising requires farming of various resources throughout all stages of the game. You start by humbly striking trees with your claws, and end up using legendary weaponry to do more of the same. During the early portions of the game, you’ll have to gather a lot of copper ore to advance your base and arsenal. Copper is a crucial early-game raw material in V Rising, which you will then use to produce Copper Ingots.

How to mine Copper Ore to unlock and craft Copper Ingots

How to get Copper Ore and unlock the Furnace?

Every production chain needs to start somewhere. First, head out into the world and look for orange-hued rocks – those are copper nodes. Equip the Mace and use it to mine them quickly, with each strike adding Copper Ore to your inventory.

Before smelting copper, you will need to unlock and build a Furnace. To do this, follow the main questline and complete the quest “Shelter”. For this, you’ll need to set up a basic base by building a Wooden Coffin, Small Stash, and Mist Brazier. This quest unlocks many new production buildings including the Furnace. Build one in your base by using 480 Stones and 60 Copper Ore. That’s where all that farming beforehand comes in handy.

How to craft Copper Ingots?

You will need 20 pieces of Copper Ore to produce 1 Copper Ingot over 30s of crafting time in the Furnace. Interact with the Furnace by pressing F near it and place your stack of Copper Ore into the input box (or right-click them in your inventory). It takes a long time to smelt an ingot, so try to improve efficiency as soon as you can. To do that, place or move your Furnaces into a confined castle room to get +25% work speed bonus. Then, when you’re able, floor the room with Forge Flooring to reduce the input costs by -25%.

✓ Pro tip

It takes too long to get enough Copper Ingots? Set up multiple Furnaces and have them work in tandem.

Can you increase productivity even further? You bet! Later down the line, you’ll unlock the Advanced Furnace production building. However, you need to beat Cyril the Cursed Smith to unlock it and it takes 16 Stone Bricks and 8 Radium Alloys to build it. At its base stats, it operates the same as a Furnace. But when it’s enclosed (which it should be at this point in V Rising), it nets a staggering +250% speed bonus, churning out Copper Ingots in just over 8 seconds.

Besides getting Copper Ingots by smelting ore, you can also sometimes loot it out in the world. The best places to potentially find some ingot drops include the various Bandit Copper Mines in Farbane Woods or Dunley Lumber Mills in Dunley Farmlands. Even if you don’t find full ingots in Bandit Copper Mines, you will certainly encounter a huge number of Copper nodes that you can mine after clearing them.

What are Copper Ingots used for?

Like many early-game resources, like Leather, Planks, and Stone Bricks, Copper Ingots are used for crafting a wide array of recipes. This includes weapons, armor, miscellaneous items, and castle structures. With a low turnaround early on, it’s a good idea to always have Copper Ingots smelting while you’re away.
