There are three Thunder Gleeoks in Tears of the Kingdom. They are located in the Coliseum Ruins southwest of the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, the Akkala Citadel Ruins directly south of the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, and at Martha’s Landing on the southern coast of Necluda, just south of Herin Lake. If you’re looking to fight a Thunder Gleeok, we recommend heading to the Coliseum or Akkala Citadel, as they’re both easily accessible from a nearby Skyview Tower.

Thunder Gleeok boss guide

Before your battle with the Thunder Gleeok, you need to prepare. You’ll need plenty of arrows as they are crucial to stunning the boss. As it’s a thunder boss, you’ll also be at risk of lightning strikes, meaning you can’t have any metal equipped. This means you’ll have to use weapons such as Boko Bows and Construct Bows instead.

The Thunder Gleeok hits hard, so if you can, cook up some elixirs to give yourself shock resistance, or get hold of some shock resistance armour such as the Rubber Armour set. Remember to cook up some meals for healing, too.

When the fight starts, the Thunder Gleeok will fire an electric beam at you from all three of its heads. Avoid this beam and try to hit each head with an arrow to stun them. You can make this easier by using raised surfaces to enter bullet-time, or by using a Keese Eyeball to home in on them. Once each head is stunned, the Gleeok will drop to the ground, allowing you to get some quick damage onto its heads with a melee weapon. Repeat this until it enters its second phase.

In the second phase, it will fly too high into the air for you to hit with your arrows. It will begin summoning lightning bolts from the sky which will strike the ground, breaking holes in it. These holes will allow a wind current to pass through. Use your paraglider in one of these currents to fly up to the Gleeok, and begin shooting the heads again. You’ll be in bullet-time for this, so you hopefully shouldn’t have too much of a problem – just watch out for any stray lightning attacks, and don’t deplete your stamina bar.

Once all three heads are stunned again, it will drop to the ground. Finish it off, and it will drop a combination of Gleeok Wings and Gleeok Thunder Horns, both of which are very powerful fusion items.

That’s all it takes to beat the Tears of the Kingdom Thunder Gleeok. If you haven’t taken on the others, why not have a go at beating the Tears of the Kingdom Frost Gleeok as well.
