Tears of the Kingdom Ring Garland Explained

The Tears of the Kingdom Ring Garland is a bit of an oddity in the game. It can only be found in Kakariko Village from a specific character, and upon getting the item in TotK it’ll more than likely appear totally useless. While it doesn’t seem to have any important relevance or obvious purpose as of the time of writing, at least one function has been found for it.

We have a guide for how to get to Tears of the Kingdom Kakariko Village so that you can track down the Tears of the Kingdom Ring Garland. We also have an explanation for Tears of the Kingdom Bubbul Gems, which are other new items to this entry.

Tears of the Kingdom Garland Ring Explained

The Tears of the Kingdom Garland Ring is a cheap flower decoration you can purchase from the character Koko in Kakariko Village at her stand during the day time. The coordinates for her stand are 1821, -1000, 0112. The item only costs five rupees so you won’t have any trouble buying one off her.

Unlike most items that you can buy in the game, the Ring Garland doesn’t go into Link’s inventory, and instead is an item that needs to be carried. Alternatively, you can find what is, so far, the only use for it, by fusing it to your shield. You need to travel all the way to the shelter in Gerudo Town. The coordinates for this location are -3878, -2960, 0033.

Once inside the Gerudo Shelter, speak to Ashai with the Ring Garland fused to a shield of your choosing, and make sure the ring garland-fused shield is equipped. Offer to help with the class until you start speaking to Deltan. Deltan will have unique dialogue that we won’t spoil for you in this guide, but it’s a rather sweet piece of character development. Currently, this one piece of dialogue seems to be all the item is used for, but it’s a nice touch.
