How do you heal in Tears of the Kingdom?

The most reliable ways to heal in Tears of the Kingdom are to eat cooked meals or rest in a bed. In regards to meals, there’s a large amount of Tears of the Kingdom recipes that we’ve compiled for you, along with their different effects.

These will require some work, with recipes made of different ingredients that you can find through exploration of the vast open-world and sky islands. You can also opt to munch down on the raw materials, but this is only recommended as a last resort due to them only restoring a fraction of the health you’d get from a cooked meal. If you need help setting up a fire, check out our how to start a fire in Tears of the Kingdom guide.

Sleeping in a bed is a lot more straightforward, but it’ll require some rupees as they can only be found at various inns and stables throughout the world.

Lastly, there are fairies which can be found in certain locations, although we’re currently unsure of where they can be found in Tears of the Kingdom. Walking into a fairy will restore Link with five hearts, but if you catch one and put it in your inventory by slowly walking up to it and pressing the A button.

Keeping a few fairies in your inventory can come in very handy, as they’ll restore some of Link’s hearts when he runs out.

Finally, always make sure to explore Hyrule for opportunities to acquire heart containers – we have a guide that can help you there. These increase the number of maximum hearts Link can have, and so reduces the reliance on you having to heal as maximum health is increased.
