Red Tape Blues walkthrough

Once you arrive at Cydonia for the first time, you’ll be given a new activity to speak to a man named Trevor inside Cydonia itself. Head in the main entrance, and all the way down the ramp, and then down the staircase to the mining area in the lower deck. You’ll find Trevor in and among the miners and mining equipment. Tell Trevor about your work for Argos Extractors, and he’ll offer you a job helping him get some new equipment for his crew.

Equip your Cutter and mine ten pieces of iron ore for him, deposit your ore in the nearby orange cart/bin, and then talk to Trevor again. He’ll then tell you his plan to have you get a job as an assistant to a mining executive. If you lost your Cutter from the start of the game, you can head upstairs and buy one from Denis Averin. Get in your ship and fast-travel to the Deimos Staryard which is orbiting one of Mars’ moons – Deimos.

Once you’ve docked and headed inside, interact with the nearby computer and apply for the executive assistant job, which will require you to answer several questions.

Starfield Red Tape Blues executive assistant application answers

Put simply, the answers to the executive assistant application questions in the Starfield Red tape Blues quest have no bearing whatsoever on whether you land the job. You’ll become executive assistant whatever answers you choose, so there are no wrong answers. Lie, be honest, embellish – pick the ones you want. In classic Bethesda style, the questions and answers are pretty silly, poking a bit of fun at corporate structure.

Fill out the application then head back down to Cydonia and report back to Trevor. He’ll get you to access the HR terminal in Brennan’s office and delete the other applications, ensuring you’re the only candidate and therefore guaranteeing you the job.

Courtesy of a chatty happy hour regular and HR employee, Trevor will share the password with you. Head upstairs to the office, and wait for 17:00 for all the employees to leave the office, specifically one called Tia Wu. Hack Tia’s computer and delete all the other candidates’ applications. With no other job applications to consider, return to Trevor who’ll have some good news – you’ve landed the job and a tidy 3000 credits for your reward. You’ll also unlock the next quest in the series, Red Tape Runaround.
