Where can you buy ammo in Starfield?

You can buy ammo in Starfield by heading to Trade Authority kiosks or merchants. You can also purchase ammo from shops like the UC Distribution Center in Jemison or Newill’s Goods in Neon. Keep in mind, though, that each of these establishments will only carry a set amount of ammo in their inventory. This means once you’ve cleared out their merchandise, you’ll need to head over to another seller so you can replenish your stock.

Best place to buy ammo in Starfield

The best place to buy ammo in Starfield is at Jemison Mercantile since Jemison is the first planet you’ll land on following the initial tutorial. Other establishments you can head to for ammo on Jemison include the UC Distribution Center in the Commercial District and the Trade Authority kiosk near the landing pad. At Neon, all of the stores that carry ammo stocks, such as Newill’s Goods and the Trade Authority merchant, can all be found at the Neon Core. If you’re currently in Cydonia, you can head to the Trade Authority Outpost beside the UC Office of the Governor-General instead.

If you want to spend a lesser amount of credits when purchasing ammo, then we suggest getting the Commerce perk, found under the Social skill tree. At its max rank, this will let you buy products for 20% less than its regular value. With this in mind, you should be able to save a ton of credits if you put in the time to level it up.

Conversely, if you really don’t want to spend any money purchasing ammo, you can always scavenge bullets from downed NPCs instead. Spacers and Va’Ruun Zealots you encounter often have their own stock of ammo for their weapons, which you can take once you’ve killed them in combat.

Can you make ammo in Starfield?

Unfortunately, no. You cannot make ammo in Starfield. This means you can only replenish your stock by purchasing these resources through vendors or scavenging them from downed NPCs. It’s currently unclear whether Bethesda plans on introducing a mechanic that will allow you to create ammo in future expansions.
