To help you make sense of them all, here’s a breakdown of all the enemy types and factions in Space Marine 2.
All enemy types

Not only does this give you are sense of the current wave of enemies’ difficulty but also what types of units you can expect to fight. Here’s handy table with all enemy types and their respective threat levels:
Enemy Type | Units | Description |
---|---|---|
Minoris | – Gargoyles – Hormagaunt – Termagant – Cultists – Tzaangor | Minoris enemies are you standard variety enemies. Fast and aggressive, they’re the fodder that make up large swarms. Though easy to kill alone, their strength lies in numbers so avoid getting overrun. |
Majoris | – Tyranid Warrior – Spore Mine – Rubric Marine | Majoris are a step up from Minoris enemies in both size and strength, but spawn in fewer numbers, though they can call in Minoris reinforcements to support them. |
Extremis | – Ravener – Lictor – Zoanthrope – Lesser Sorcerer – Scarab Occult Terminator | Extremis enemies are elite mini-bosses that pose a serious challenge. They boast unique movesets and weaponry, such as the ability to summon enemies, and require some clever tactics to manage. |
Terminus | – Carnifex – Neurothrope – Heldrake – Helbrute – Imurah – Hive Tyrant | Terminus enemies are bosses with their own unique health bar at the top of the screen. They are the toughest enemies in Space Marine 2. You’ll encounter these during the Campaign and occasionally as random encounters during Operations missions. |
When choosing perks obtained by leveling up your weapons in Operations mode, check the descriptors of variants that offer a boost to certain enemy types like Terminus.
Enemy factions
Space Marine 2 includes two enemy factions, the Tyranids and Chaos, that star in both the Campaign story and the PvE Operations mode.
Tyranids
Tyranids are a alien species intent of feasting on virtually every living thing it can get it’s carnivorous chompers on, working as a hive to exterminate all and anything in its path. They tend to appear in swarms, massive writhing waves consisting of basic cannon fodder along with a few choice elite enemies. Their main tactic is to overrun and overwhelm the player by sheer numbers
Chaos
Though a lot is said about the Astartes devotion to the Imperium and the Emperor, the Chaos represents those than chose a darker path, instead placing their faith in Tzeentch and making up a chapter known as the Thousand Sons. These heretics can’t quite be called human, acting more like vessels imbued with unique abilities like teleportation though their movement is similar to their Ultramarine counterparts. They fight in smaller numbers but are harder to take down than the Tyranids.
