Best melee weapons in South Park: Snow Day ranked

There are three melee and three ranged weapons in South Park: Snow Day. While that might not sound like much, card upgrades let you upgrade them throughout a mission. These offer unique perks that keep each run fresh. Here are the best weapons we’ve tested in South Park: Snow Day.

S-Tier – Dagger

The Dagger is our top pick when it comes to melee weapons. While it might not deal as much damage as a Two-Handed Axe, the mobility it offers is incredible. Its dash attack after a jump is particularly useful to evade enemy projectiles and AoE attacks. If you’ve been set on fire or suffer from a status effect, this will let you move to safety. Upgrades also let it deal bonus backstab damage and can be paired with other offensive powers like Bull Run to unleash its maximum potential.

A-Tier – Two-Handed Axe

When it comes to pure damage, the Two-Handed Axe can’t be beat. While it might be a hassle to attack enemies without a backup option, the right upgrades can help you deal absurd amounts of damage. For instance, one upgrade lets you summon lightning with your jump attack, knocking enemies back and hitting them multiple times. Your spin attacks are also great in crowded spaces. Consider other upgrades like the one that doubles your health to stay in fights longer.

B-Tier – Sword and Shield

The Sword and Shield combo isn’t as good as the first two picks when it comes to melee weapons. Its main draw is supposed to be its defensive Shield but since it can only take a limited number of hits before recharging, it doesn’t make you invincible. And like enemy Shield Bearers, you are still vulnerable from the rear. But if you have trouble handling enemy archers, consider this weapon if you don’t want to sprint to them or take them out from afar.

Best ranged weapons in South Park: Snow Day ranked

S-Tier – Wand

The Wand is easily the best ranged weapon on offer in South Park: Snow Day. Think of it as a flamethrower with infinite ammo that can be recharged. Upgrades let you enhance its damage and lower its cooldowns too. Offensive boosts include dropping a grenade when you exhaust its ammo and spreading waves of fire across enemy lines. It’s particularly useful against bosses.

A-Tier – Staff

The Staff is another good pick but isn’t as lethal as the Wand in the game. You can charge it up to unleash more powerful attacks. And with the right upgrades, you can tackle multiple enemies at once. Just remember that the Wand is better in most situations once you’ve unlocked it.

B-Tier – Bow

The Bow can be used to snipe off enemies from afar. While that’s great, it’s not an absolute necessity in South Park: Snow Day as you can simply use abilities to close the gap between you and enemy archers. The Bow can also be upgraded to deal more damage but its limited rate of fire makes it an undesirable pick.

Remember that upgrades change how weapons function

For instance, the Wand can be turned from a flamethrower into a chain lightning wand that also burns foes.

How to unlock all weapons in South Park: Snow Day

Play through the missions in the game to unlock all the weapons in South Park: Snow Day. Some of them will be dropped by bosses at the end of a stage. For example, Kyle drops the Wand after their boss fight. And Stan drops the Double-Handed Axe axe (a traffic sign) after his boss fight. The Season Pass will bring a new ranged weapon (the Snowball) and a melee weapon to the game.
