Wondering how to unlock upgrades in Revenge of the Savage Planet? From your first visit to a 3D printer on Pfyzzich Beach, you’ll notice a range of upgrades for your weapon, suit, and so on waiting to be unlocked. However, they are marked as unknown and there’s not much in the way of clues about how to make them available.
As you venture deeper into Stellaris Prime, upgrades are vital for surviving the many gooey dangers that lurk throughout the alien planet so it’s worth having a firm understanding of how you can access them. In this guide, we’ll explain how to unlock upgrades in Revenge of the Savage Planet.

How to get new upgrades in Revenge of the Savage Planet
To unlock upgrades in Revenge of the Savage Planet, you’ll need to use your suit’s Scanning Mode to scan fauna, flora, hazards, resources, and pretty much anything else on a planet to obtain scan data. Once you hit certain milestones, for example 25% of a planet’s wildlife and plants, you’ll unlock upgrades.
In other words, you’ll want to get into the habit of regularly opening up Scanning Mode (tab on PC) and checking for anything you haven’t scanned yet. Once you hit a milestone, you’ll receive a notification signalling that an upgrade (or several) is now available. You can then head over to a 3D printer and 3D print new upgrades as long as you have the required resources.
Alongside scanning, you’ll eventually reach a point in the story where you’ll get the Upgrade-O-Rama quest. This gives you several challenges that when completed will unlock new upgrades. These range from throwing bait at creatures to sliding for a set distance.
Lastly, many upgrades are tied to the main story and unlock naturally as you progress to new planets. So keep following your trusty robot pal to access new upgrades.
How to upgrade gear in Revenge of the Savage Planet
To upgrade gear, interact with a 3D printer such as the one inside the base in Nu Florida, then select the category of gear you want to upgrade – weapon, power hose, jump pack, etc. Any category with an upgrade available is marked by a green spanner. Select the upgrade then tap the Print button prompt (Space bar on PC).
