Resident Evil 4 Remake – Shooting The Lake

Resident Evil 4 Remake - Leon decides to shoot the lake

Well, it might surprise you to learn that new convertees to capcom’s venerable survival horror series aren’t just being baited into wasting their precious ammo. Instead, they’re serving as bait of a whole different kind.

If you shoot the lake several times in Resident Evil 4 Remake chapter 3, you’ll be ambushed by Del Lago, the boss of the chapter. This isn’t a way to instigate the fight early, however. Del Lago will appear in a cutscene and instantly lunge at Leon, prompting an unavoidable game over.

Should You Shoot The Lake?

Only if you’re desperate to get a glimpse of Chapter 3’s boss slightly earlier than normal. That being said, the cutscene is brief, and with an autosave nearby you’ve not really lost much by experiencing it.

Additionally, this secret has existed since the original game, so players interested in paying homage to the history of Resident Evil 4 might be interested in getting chomped. For everyone else, steer clear and you’ll soon be able to put up a fight against Del Lago with a few dozen harpoons in place of a handful of soggy bullets.
